The Alpha III is a semi automatic slitter/rewinder suitable for the conversion of many types of film. The machines have been developed specifically to ensure ease of operation and reliable service under continuous and arduous conditions, converting material rapidly and consistently to give finished rolls of the highest quality.

The Alpha III slitter/rewinder comes in 2 standard web sizes. The smaller is a 610mm (24") wide machine with 2 sets of arms, and the larger machine is 1040mm (40") wide and can be provided with 2 or 3 sets depending upon requirements. Slitting is carried out by blades and both machines can be configured to slit once or multiple times (with a minimum slit width of 20mm).

The latest Alpha III models have a robust A-frame design with a low centre of gravity, which allows the machine to convert film at high speed without compromising on quality.

Both the unwind and rewind on the Alpha III are surface driven with the web speed controlled by a fully variable AC drive. Pressures on the unwind and rewind are set by a dual pneumatic station and can be independently adjusted to match the application being run. A unique system allows for the web tension to be correctly set and pneumatic braking is used to slow and stop the machine between operations. Electronic sensors precisely measure the finished roll length, which can be set by the operator using the electronic counter on the control panel.

The Alpha III is offered with several configurations on the rewind depending upon customer requirements. Straight arms and Turret arms are available as is a choice of pneumatic controls for moving the arms/roll release (via hand or foot pedals). Mandrels/Shafts can also be fitted to allow for multiple slitting operations.
