MG Electric (Colchester) Ltd is a British manufacturing company whose innovative approach has seen it go from strength to strength since its foundation in 1945 by Sydney Albert Martin, grandfather of the current Managing Director.
	Beginning as an installer and repairer of electrical equipment and gaining an impressive reputation as a producer of electric motors, MGE expanded into several new engineering areas and specifically, the design and manufacture of specialist web winding equipment.
In 1999, MGE acquired the well known converting machine manufacturer, AWW and launched our webcon range of converting equipment. Since then, the range has undergone continued improvement and we currently offer an extensive selection of semi and fully automatic machines able to convert a wide variety of materials. Our technical department are constantly striving to improve and develop our equipment enabling us to utilise the latest technologies and offer machines specifically designed to meet our customer's applications.
In 1985, the company moved to its present premises, a 25,000 sq ft factory in Wyncolls Road, Colchester.
All MGE equipment is manufactured to the highest standards in accordance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System, and European CE Legislation.
